Another Japanese at the Japanese Grand Prix

Un altro giapponese al Gran Premio del Giappone

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Exciting moments await us at this weekend's Formula 1 Grand Prix, especially from the Japanese point of view. In fact, not only Yuki Tsunoda will be able to take to the track for the local fans.

Another youngster will have the opportunity to prove himself, namely Toyota WEC driver Ryo Hirakawa, who will be able to pilot the 2025 Alpine. Hirakawa will be able to step on board in place of Jack Doohan during FP1 of the Japanese Grand Prix, and it will not be a completely unfamiliar terrain for him to find himself behind the wheel of a Formula 1 single-seater, given that last year in Abu Dhabi he already gained experience with Oscar Piastri's McLaren.

“I am extremely excited and can’t wait to drive the A525 in the first free practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix. 18 years ago, in 2007, I watched the Japanese Grand Prix in Fuji, and soon I will be able to experience the thrill of lapping in front of my fellow countrymen. It will be a dream come true, I can’t wait!” said Hirakawa.
