Lando Norris dominated Saturday afternoon's sprint race at the Qatar Grand Prix, but ceded victory to teammate Oscar Piastri on the final lap.
The two McLarens had a fantastic start, with Lando Norris immediately breaking away from the pack. At the back, it was interesting to watch the struggles of Max Verstappen, the recent world champion, who couldn't even get past Pierre Gasly on the fourth lap. He only managed to do so on the eighth lap, which is not what you would expect from him… And speaking of Red Bull Racing, it is also worth mentioning the "performance" of Sergio Perez, who couldn't even get past Franco Colapinto, who started from the pits (instead it was the Argentine who did it straight away) and was in 19th place. Here it should be noted that it is now bordering on the unbelievable that someone can be a Formula 1 driver and a member of the Red Bull team… Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc, after a spectacular battle won against Lewis Hamilton, climbed up to fifth place, so we saw a podium formed by McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari. In the end, this did not change, except that on the last lap Lando Norris handed over the victory to Oscar Piastri, while George Russell managed to get on the podium behind them.
