According to Ralf Schumacher, it is simply a joke what is happening at Scuderia Ferrari. One of the most prestigious teams, fighting for the world title, made mistakes during the weekend that would be laughable even in the novice development series.
As a result, both drivers of the team were excluded after the Chinese Grand Prix, and this will have, according to Schumacher, serious consequences:
“To say the least, there was a missing part of Charles Leclerc’s car. This missing part weighed two kilos, which should have been calculated, and anyway... At this level of engineering you would also expect a safety margin. It’s nothing but pure incompetence. The case of Lewis Hamilton is unfortunately even worse and raises stronger questions. After the sprint race on Saturday they should have known how worn the floor was. And so it happened... I think there will be serious consequences, personal consequences!”
A mistake of this magnitude will not, and cannot, be allowed to go by. They had the pace to close the weekend in style, but what they did on Sunday is simply ridiculous, unacceptable, it is not Ferrari work, they should not want to be champions with a performance like that.” - Schumacher expressed his harsh but fair judgment.
