Schumacher: “Hamilton’s career could be ruined by Ferrari”

Schumacher: “Hamilton la carriera potrebbe essere rovinata dalla Ferrari”

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Based on the tests in Bahrain, it was clear that Charles Leclerc was better than Lewis Hamilton in every aspect of the game. According to Dr. Helmut Marko, although Hamilton is capable of sudden and rapid improvements, if this does not happen, then it will be the end for him...

Sky Sports F1 expert Ralf Schumacher doesn't understand the hysteria surrounding Hamilton. Given the test results, he is particularly dissociated from what is happening in public:

"You can't expect great things from him. Even in the most optimistic estimates, Hamilton is three or four tenths behind, but it's also true that this is not a tragedy yet. Maybe he still has to get used to the car, to his new situation, things like that... What is happening at the moment is equivalent to an earthquake, everyone sees him as a messiah. He is a seven-time world champion who obviously changed teams because he wants to fight for the world title again. In theory, he will be able to do it, but I am completely sure that it will not happen in his first year. In my opinion, anyone who expects this from him is living in a dream world. In the meantime, if Charles Leclerc continues to be consistently better than him and remains so, it is clear that it will be the end for Lewis Hamilton, he has already passed his peak. And we all know that at Scuderia Ferrari they are not very patient with drivers who do not perform... So, ultimately, Ferrari could be the team that buries Lewis' career. All this could also apply the other way around, if Lewis Hamilton were to beat Charles Leclerc. But I see little chance of that happening," Ralf Schumacher reflected.
