Oscar Piastri has raised the bar in the last two years and this year he wants to raise it even higher. The Australian is not content with a secondary role and wants to conquer the individual world title as well as the constructors' one!
In his first season he finished ninth, in his second he came fourth, and this year he is explicitly and implicitly aiming for the individual world title:
“I think I can become a contender for the 2025 world championship. I know I still have room for improvement and things to learn, but I’ve reached the point where there are days when I’m fully equipped for what it takes to win. I just need to be able to put things together. Many said I lacked consistency, but consistency alone doesn’t make you competitive; you also need raw pace and good tire management. I see above all that I needed to improve in qualifying, putting together my laps better.
I often made things much more difficult for myself by finishing a few positions behind what I could have achieved... Now I'm at the point where I just have to put things together. Now we're fighting at the top of the rankings, here it's much more noticeable if you don't do something really well, but I feel like I already have everything I need to win the world championship,” Oscar Piastri said with determination.
