These days, many “experts” are analyzing Liam Lawson’s disappointing performance at the beginning of the season. However, Giancarlo Minardi, former team principal, does not share the public opinion. According to him, Lawson is not responsible for his performance.
Much more than Max Verstappen, who, in addition to his indisputable successes, has made Red Bull Racing a team with an unbalanced structure. Verstappen is the center, everything revolves around him, and therefore it is very difficult to keep up:
“At Red Bull, the problems that cause the difficulties of one of the drivers are not the ones that most people think or raise. As Verstappen's teammate, everyone starts from a huge disadvantage, and not because the Dutchman is so incredibly good. It is much more the fact that everything, but really every single detail, is designed and set up for him, and from this all his teammates have suffered so far. And Liam Lawson cannot cope with this. Simply, in an optimal situation, it should not be allowed, but due to the successes, Max already has so much power that he can easily get this for himself.” - defended the young Lawson the experienced Italian veteran.
