The 2025 racing season hasn't even started yet, but George Russell could already be the first in something. It's very likely that he will be the one the FIA will make an example of with its new swearing regulation.
The Mercedes driver let slip a sentence during the first day of testing in Bahrain, where he told streaming service Viaplay about the power cut that disrupted his day: "Oh shit, the lights went out."
So he has already found himself in the crosshairs of the new regulation, which examines whether he has caused moral damage to the FIA, the reputation of the organization, its members, officials and, in general, universal motorsport. What nonsense! If the accusation holds up, this slight swearing by Russell will cost him 40,000 euros. If he continues to swear on further occasions, the figure could rise to 120,000 euros, followed by a possible deduction of points and even a one-month suspension. On this basis, Yuki Tsunoda and Max Verstappen should not even start 2025...
