The end of Mick Schumacher's Formula 1 dreams has come, as the young driver has officially cut almost all ties with the Mercedes team, which represented his last refuge.
The young German has practically declared that his F1 dreams are over, and from the end of the year he will not even take on the role of reserve driver in the team, imagining his future exclusively in the WEC (World Endurance Championship):
“I am very grateful to Toto Wolff and the entire Mercedes-AMG Petronas family for welcoming me over the past two years, I was able to gain an inside look at the work of the team. Without a doubt, I have become a much more experienced driver thanks to this opportunity, I have learned the engineering side of racing better, but it was also a difficult and painful time for me. It is a bad feeling just to look at these cars and not race with them, it is difficult to digest, so I had to act. In the future I want to focus one hundred percent only on racing and I want to fully commit myself to the sporting side of motor racing. As a driver, your goal is to constantly be on the track and prove yourself, as we all chase this feeling.” – shared the context of his decision Mick Schumacher, who is headed to Alpine, whose only ray of hope could be the arrival of General Motors in 2026.
Or maybe not even that…
