An unusually strong message was sent by McLaren, this time to its drivers. Andrea Stella stressed that the driver who does not support the team's interests will not have a long life in the team!
Stella did not hold back, the team principal does not even want to see a trace of those discussions that last year made McLaren's strategy difficult on some occasions:
“There are no firsts and seconds for us, both our drivers have the same opportunities, we are starting the year with the same principles as last year. We are proud of our performance last year and the behavior of our drivers, their positive cooperation. We have learned a lot from 2024, and that also includes the human factor. We were competitive, we will be, we cannot make mistakes, and for that we still need close cooperation. We have learned all the lessons from last year, everyone will have the opportunity to prove their worth. However, it is important to emphasize that if someone does not believe in the principles of McLaren, then he is not the right person, nor the right driver for the team, and we will part ways with him.” - was the rather harsh message from Stella.
