While all existing Formula 1 portals are wagging their tails this week as Lewis Hamilton FANS SITE, Helmut Marko came back, saw and said a wheel!
According to the grand old man of Red Bull Racing, it is clear as day that in the current F1 line-up Max Verstappen is by far the best, Lewis Hamilton is far from him:
“Let’s look at 2024. Our car has not been up to the task of winning on several occasions, in those moments Max brought the added value needed for success. He became world champion because he is simply capable of finding 0.1-0.2 tenths of a second in places where no one else could. Yes, not even Lewis Hamilton! Maybe he is still fast, but will he be able to keep up with Max for a whole season? I doubt it. If he gets a fantastic Ferrari and we can only put Max under a mediocre Red Bull, then the latter will also be the winner between the two. So Max Verstappen will do his job, now it’s up to us to provide him with a car that can not only win from time to time, but can be a winner all the time.
Unfortunately, this didn’t work out last season. Sometimes we were the fastest, then a week later you couldn’t see any of that pace anymore. We need to expand the operating range of the car, that’s what we’re working on,” Helmut Marko looked at future plans.
