Many people are not satisfied with the performance of FIA President Mohammed ben Sulayem. Members of the organization are tense, drivers are nervous and even ordinary fans are not at all happy with the direction the sport is going…
Elections to renew the automobile federation will be held in December and now it seems that, in addition to dissatisfaction, Sulayem will have another strong challenger.
It was his idea for the most childish maneuver the sport has ever seen, the punishment of drivers who swear, which has also been tightened for 2025. And then there is the forcing of the Monaco Grand Prix with additional pit stops, just to mention the tip of the iceberg, not to mention that due to the dictatorial behavior of the sports director, a lot of valuable professionals have left the federation. More and more people believe that the FIA is no longer "a free organization", which raises serious concerns.
According to some media, Susie Wolff is seriously considering running for president. In addition, Toto Wolff's wife has a personal grudge and involvement with Sulayem, as the latter examined (or should have examined) the Wolff couple for conflict of interest in 2023. The episode caused such outrage that the FIA number one quickly backtracked, but the thorn is certainly still present on the other side. Sulayem has so far only responded by saying that he is happy if he has a female challenger in the elections.
Then we will see how sincere this pleasure is…
