From a European perspective, we saw nothing surprising in the sprint race of the Chinese Grand Prix, which started in a far from friendly interval. Historic, however!
Lewis Hamilton had a perfect start, as did the entire field, which started without any problems. Shortly afterwards, Lando Norris, who was in third place, tried an overly bold move, slipping to ninth place. Yuki Tsunoda, on the other hand, found his rhythm better, already in sixth place on the third lap - probably not only for the precious points, but also a little for the Red Bull Racing seat... In the meantime, Liam Lawson was modestly in 18th place after a questionable overtaking move. In the lead, Hamilton maintained his lead of about a second over Max Verstappen, but by lap eight the Dutchman had closed in. In the end, nothing happened, so much so that Verstappen had to pay attention to Oscar Piastri who was coming from behind. At this point, the fronts had practically locked, and we only saw a train on the track. Eventually, Piastri passed Verstappen, but he had neither time nor enough tires to go and catch Hamilton. Thus, the Briton won his first sprint race and took the victory for Scuderia Ferrari ahead of Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen.
