Brazilian Grand Prix, sprint race: Norris gets a gift victory

Gran Premio del Brasile, sprint race: Norris ha ottenuto una vittoria regalo

Tamás Jancsovics |

In a race with little action, Oscar Piastri gave up a start-to-finish victory to Lando Norris, to help him in the points standings.

Oscar Piastri got off to a great start, easily maintaining his leading position, with no changes in the leading group. Max Verstappen aggressively tried to pass Charles Leclerc, but after several attempts he was unsuccessful. This was not the case for Nico Hülkenberg, who made the most progress among the drivers on track, while behind him the fronts were blocked. Sergio Perez tried to assert himself, with good reason, as his position at Red Bull Racing is very unstable. In the final quarters of the race, Verstappen caught up with Leclerc and took third place, while at McLaren they were preparing for a change of position. This happened on lap 22, and the race almost ended in a VSC phase due to Hülkenberg's retirement, with only half a lap to go. In the end, Lando Norris won the sprint ahead of Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen.
