Loic Serra has joined Scuderia Ferrari and it is said that the results will soon be evident and visible. The Ferrari with code 677 will be a completely new construction and, in theory, will be capable of a much stronger race pace on a single lap.
Serra has a wealth of experience in vehicle dynamics, which he is looking to bring to the 2025 red model. It is said that the suspension components, torsion bars and shock absorbers will undergo the greatest changes, and the aim is for the 677 to be able to push the new Pirellis to the max in as high an operating range as possible. Reduce overheating and allow better tyre management to allow for stronger revs. That is the goal.
The 2024 car, the SF-24, had a good understanding with the tyres during the races, but during qualifying the drivers often struggled with grip and warm-up. This often led to Scuderia Ferrari only being able to start from positions further back than they could reach with power. This dilemma has been a focus for the team led by Loic Serra. The changes made to the design of the 677 aim to rewrite the fundamental behaviour of the Ferrari, and signs of this will hopefully be seen in the first check at Fiorano, scheduled for February 19.
