Bahrain: Sainz's second day of testing

Bahrein: Il secondo giorno di test di Sainz

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Today the collective testing days continued in Bahrain, where this time a Williams was the fastest, ahead of the two Ferraris.

Thursday did not show its best side, the weather was cloudy and the track was slightly wet. Despite this, George Russell quickly improved on the best result of the previous day, then Lewis Hamilton took the lead. In the second hour, the surprise arrived, with a rain of such intensity that it prevented the continuation of the work. The reason was quite ridiculous: the teams were not prepared with wet tires (WTF??)

After the forced break, Hamilton increased his pace even further, setting the fastest time of the morning. Only one person managed to beat this time, Carlos Sainz, who had already gotten closer to Hamilton in the morning session, finishing the day ahead of the Briton with the same compound. Sainz, by the way, had an extremely productive day, driving the Williams alone, completing 120 laps without any problems. The same cannot be said for Liam Lawson, who also completed a full day, but had a lot of difficulties with the technical side of the Red Bull, and there are still concerns about his safety. McLaren "let it go" on this day, last year's constructors' champion seemed to be working on other things instead of chasing times, instead focusing on long stints.
