Bahrain, final day: Russell in the lead

Bahrain, giorno finale: Russell in testa

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

The F1 team has just had some interesting and significant days, from which it is very difficult to draw any rational conclusions from the tests in Bahrain.

The final day brought another element of interest, particularly in terms of the weather, as the teams were greeted by much milder and warmer conditions this time around. There were some interesting developments, as Lance Stroll passed away due to illness in the early hours, a window collapsed on the side of the grid, and then a bus entered the track causing a bizarre red flag phase… The fastest lap of the morning was set by Charles Leclerc, followed by Andrea Kimi Antonelli, while Lando Norris joined the imaginary podium.

In the afternoon, the focus shifted to longer stints, but Max Verstappen took the lead and held it until the final ten minutes of the test. Then George Russell stepped in and eventually improved on that time, but strangely the best time of the three days was not this, but the result achieved by Carlos Sainz during yesterday's session. Different compounds, different tactics, hidden performances, that is the only certainty, along with the development of McLaren and the progress of Williams. The rest is impossible to predict.
